It has been below zero lately which is cold but it’s winter in Maine so it is not a big deal to me. It has been a big deal to Bullmobile.
The last couple days I’ve had to start my car 3 times to get it running. It fires right up when I turn the key but then sputters out and dies. If I start it and keep the revs up it’ll stay running, but then die when I stop.
Any ideas why this happens?

Failing idle air control valve?

Check the idle air control motor. Pretty common on Fords. Cleaning the carbon out may help, but chances are you just need a new one.

I’ll look into that.

Well that at least looks easy to get to.

Others have already memtioned the IAC. After that, I wonder if the temp sending unit is okay. Can you plug in and see what the computer thinks the coolant temp is?

I think I can check that. I’ll look later when I go out to my car.
